The most sought after silent film actress to find quality images of by far is Louise Brooks. An edgy and controversial figure, she dropped off the face of the earth around the time of talking pictures emerging. What is little known about her is that she attempted a comeback in 1937 and this photo represents the only example from this stage of her career we have ever seen. Taken by photographer Irving Lippman and stamped on the back, this is a Columbia Pictures image that presents well with note to some light creasing from publication and a newspaper article glued to the back. One of only a handful of images of Louise Brooks we have ever handled!
