Large 1929 silver gelatin portrait photograph of famous veteran boxer Young Stribling. He was one of the more famous heavyweights of his era and he had no way of knowing when this photo was taken, but he was close to a tragic death! He was riding his motorcycle to the hospital to visit his wife and new baby when he was struck and badly injured. He was rushed to the same hospital his wife and baby were at and clung to life for a few days, but ultimately passed away. This is without a doubt the finest image of Stribling we have ever seen and it grades nearly perfectly!
