1920 Large silver gelatin photograph of tragic boxer Billy Miske and showing off his powerful physique and large wingspan. He fought some of the all time greats including Harry Greb, Jack Dempsey, Tommy Gibbons etc. Miske was diagnosed with brights disease and knew he was dying by 1923 and his response was to keep fighting to earn money for his family. He miraculously won them! He did indeed die in 1924 making images of him rare and desirable. The offered photograph is in great shape and dated on the back by NEA from the year he fought Jack Dempsey! An impressive and detailed portrait photo with incredible detail, this is a work of art!
