One of the oddest stories never told in the history of the NFL is the unlikely merger for a short time in 1943 between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams rosters had been decimated during WWII and the rivals became friendly for one lone season and they were known as the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia Steagles! Images from this short lived franchise are extremely rare and this is as good as they get. Here Bill Paschal of the New York Giants powers into the end zone against the Steagles Al Sherman at the Polo Grounds. An incredible piece of photography and NFL history issued by the International News and stamped on the back.
