In a scene that seems to evoke images of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier this is a rare image from Jackie signing his contract for his second big league season in 1948. Jackie is seated again by the man who made it all happen, Branch Rickey, as the two have a small conversation. Perhaps the context was that Jackie needed no longer to take the abuse and had earned the right to fight back? Important image in nice shape is a rare specimen with much deeper importance than the actual baseball contract that was signed!
