1947 Portrait photograph of young WWII veteran Yogi Berra in uniform with the New York Yankees and hoping to make the team out of spring training. He had come up on September 22, 1946 (the previous fall) but was hoping for a full time job for the first time. An early and exceptional portrait photograph that is among the finest ever taken of Berra in uniform. Dated on the back from April 12, 1947 the photo presents beautifully with crystal clarity and a small spot of paper loss on the front of his jersey.
