On March 20, 1934 Babe Didrikson made history as she took the mound for the Philadelphia Athletics against the Brooklyn Dodgers during spring training. She gave up a walk and no hits in her one inning of play and etched her name further into the history books as the best athlete of her era. Here she poses with her biggest fan and teammate for the day, slugger Jimmie Foxx from the Athletics. This is only the second known image we have seen of Didrikson in uniform from her one stint in the major leagues and this is a gem from the Associated Press and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well.
