1931 Action photograph of Hall of Famer Mickey Cochrane as he applies the tag to George Watkins of the Cardinals as he tries to score during the seventh game of the series. The ball was a split second too late and this would end up being a big one as the Cardinals won 4-2 to take the series and end the run of the Athletics. Crystal clear and detailed, this is one of the better action photos from the era we have seen, made extra special considering it was a close play in game seven of the World Series! Issued by the Associated Press and stamped on the back with a nice paper caption as well.
