In 1930 Dick Porter was coming off a season in which he hit .328 as a rookie and was following that up at a .350 clip. All those hits and the hard work that went into it did not come without a price as in the days before batting gloves, swing after swing put a huge strain on the hands of baseball players. Here we see the hands of Dick Porter all wrapped up from blisters and wear in an artistic piece of photography dated on the back and in great shape.
