Large 1928 portrait style photograph of a confident looking Carl Hubbell from the New York Giants leaning up against the railing at the Polo Grounds and posing for a photographer in full uniform. He lingered in the minors for years but emerged in 1928 as a key figure on the Giants staff, starting a career that would make him one of the most dominant pitchers of his era. One of only a handful of dated 1928 photos of Hubbell we have handled and it displays well with note to pinholes and a corner chip off the upper right.
