Original 1923 photograph of Urban Shocker, Pitcher for the St. Louis Browns. He would eventually become one of the stalwarts of the vaunted '27 Yankees and die shortly thereafter making him one of the most tragic figures from baseballs most stories team. The offered image is bold and with some mild editorial enhancements and in great condition. Issued by Pacific and Atlantic the caption on the back notes an interesting moment in baseball history in which Shocker was fined for not going East with the team when they refused to let his wife go with him. This photo sold for $337 in our June 2014 auction.
