Large 1927 posed action photograph of Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Clarence Mitchell. Not just any image, this one shows Mitchell demonstrating a pitch that he was allowed to throw but only a few others could, the Spitter! With his glove to his mouth and lubricant being applied to the ball, the image captures a pitcher executing the outlawed pitch better than just about any we have seen. Stamped on the back with the date and a small paper caption added for identification by a newspaper archive, this presents in nice shape overall.
