Touching large 1926 photograph of the trainer of the Cleveland Indians (an unidentified black man) working on pitcher Garland Buckeye in the locker room. A rare image as this trainer would have been banned himself from the field but was welcome as a valuable member of the team as long as he stayed behind the scenes! An unusual photo as even photographers at the time were reluctant to capture any black team members due to the color barrier in baseball making this extremely rare!
