Incredible 1920's (possibly early 1930's) detailed close-up of the man who changed the world when he signed Jackie Robinson to play in the major leagues in 1945, Branch Rickey. At the time this photo was taken he had already transformed baseball through his innovations with farming out his prospects to minor league teams he owned, but he was on the verge of taking the next step for the game and America. He had a look on his face like he knows what is to come and we would just have to wait to figure it out! Incredibly detailed, this photo could be hanging in a museum or gallery as a work of fine art, this is stamped on the back from 1942 making it about 10-15 years after the original was taken but still a fantastic specimen off the original negative that is nearly 80 years old! Photo is in nice shape overall with some really beautiful artistic enhancements done for publication.
