1920 Action photograph of Cleveland Indians shortstop Ray Chapman in full uniform. While the photograph itself was taken earlier in the season, the paper caption on the back notes that this example was issued the DAY Chapman died as a result of being struck by a pitched ball by Carl Mays. An incredible piece of baseball history, the image presents well in nice shape overall with a bit of corner wear on the upper left and a bold image. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and while the stamp on the back is mostly obscured, the credit line is on the paper slug which details in an eerie contemporary account of what has just transpired and would change the game of baseball forever!
