Original c. 1910 portrait photograph of Christy Mathewson in uniform and taken by noted photographer Carl Horner of Boston. The image is one of the better known examples of Mathewson and this is the only original specimen we have seen. Presenting in stunning condition, the photo is stamped on the back by Horner from his later Huntington Avenue Studio. A double weight image that has been trimmed from it's larger size, it is impossible to tell whether this is from the original negative or not, but we do know it was issued from Horner himself! An important new discovery from the most well known early baseball photographer.
