Exciting new discovery of a rare pitching pose of Baseball Hall of Famer, Vic Willis. To the best of our knowledge, there are exactly THREE known images of Willis pitching that exist! With a career that started in 1898 and lasted until 1910, Vic Willis played during an era in which Sports Photography was almost non-existent. The technology of the day made photography on the field almost impossible and with baseball seen as the amusement of the working man, not many felt the need to chronicle such persons or events. The offered large silver gelatin photograph captures the Hall of Famer in his follow-through on the field in full uniform. Photo has condition flaws (creasing to the edges and a few pinholes) as well as some artistic tracing, but the quality of the image is impeccable! The rarity of this photograph and it's significance to the history of Baseball can not be overstated!
