In todays culture the famous athlete and his car are common, but in 1905 a baseball player with a fancy car were new and bold. This is perhaps the earliest melding of the two in photography as Sam Crawford of the Detroit Tigers shows of his new car during spring training. The car is crazy looking, absolutely huge and without a doubt one of the coolest things we have ever seen. From the scrapbook of teammate Matty McIntyre, this is a unique discovery that would fit nicely into even the most advanced collection.
