Duff Cooley was a baseball star from a largely forgotten era in the history of the game (1890's) where sports photography essentially did not exist, making anything of him extremely rare. The offered 1905 photograph is from the last year of his career and was removed from the scrapbook of his teammate Matty McIntyre. Taken during spring training, Cooley is shown about to blast one into the outfield and showing off the form that led him to nearly 1600 hits and a .294 career average between 1892-1905! A unique image in nice shape overall and the only image of Cooley we have ever seen!
