In one of the coolest yet never told stories of baseball history you will find an entire chapter on John Wright. Signed shortly after Jackie Robinson by the Montreal Royals, Wright was the first pitcher that broke the color barrier in organized baseball in 1946. He played for the Royals, was not selected to break the color barrier and then discarded back to the Negro Leagues, forgotten forever. The offered image captures Wright in uniform with the San Luis club of the Mexican League in 1950. A rare image in nice shape overall with some artistic enhancements from publication. One of the most underrated figures in baseball history!
