Cool 1950 photograph of Hall of Famers Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese hitting side by side in the cages at Vero Beach as they are being fed baseballs into an automatic pitching machine. The familiar stance of Robinson at right is captured perfectly by photographer Herb Scharfman who also has inadvertantly captured the two friends "side by side" just like in 1947 when Pee Wee symbolically put his arm around Jackie in St. Louis to show his support. A fantastic image from the International News and Scharfman in nearly perfect shape.
