Incredible 1926 (last year the Athletics wore this type of uniform) photograph from spring training showing the three young catchers of the Philadelphia Athletics. Each is sporting a backwards baseball cap and crouched in their position making for a cool image, but the fact that two of these guys would establish themselves as some of the best hitters in the history of the game is astounding! Jimmie Foxx (far right) would become the only man to rival Babe Ruth as the greatest slugger of his era and Mickey Cochrane (left) would go down in history as one of the top catchers of all time. A rare silver gelatin original from the estate of a teammate, this is a nearly perfect specimen.
