The weather in California is beautiful, but even in that Paradise it can get a bit chilly during the Winter/Spring Months. This climate along with the long PCL Season and Ocean Breezes in Oakland prompted the Oaks of 1913 to experiment with a unique innovation in uniform design, snap on sleeves! Modeled here by longtime PCL Veteran Tyler Christian, he warms up with the buttons of his uniform sleeve clearly visible. PCL images of this era are very rare and highly sought after, with this being a wonderful example. Large for the era, it carries an NEA (Pacific Bureau) stamp from April 2, 1913. Condition is nice with just some mild handling wear present. Truly a wonderful and most likely unique photograph from the early days of the PCL and of special interest to uniform collectors as well.
