Incredible and poignant 1953 photograph of young slugger Mickey mantle as he hangs around with former slugger of his youth, Hank Greenberg and hopes to get a little advice on hitting in the process. It is hard to imagine Mantle being star-struck, but here he is with a look of youthful idol worship as he soaks in whatever it was Greenberg was telling him! An exceptional piece of photography from William C. Greene and stamped on the back, the condition and quality are absolutely fantastic. One of the few images of Mantle taken by William C. Greene we have ever seen!
