Large 1910-1912 portrait photograph of Hall of Fame pitcher Eddie Plank from the Philadelphia Athletics in uniform and posing at the ballpark. Although he was still at the top of his game, he was starting to show the strain of playing hundreds of baseball games out in the sun and each wrinkle visible in the clear photo tells a story of triumph and success. Crystal clear and exceptionally clean and bold, this is without a doubt one of the top images of Plank we have handled and the quality makes it a treasure worthy of the Hall of Fame. Stamped on the back by a news service (light) this is absolutely original and presents well with minimal handling wear from news-room usage over the last hundred years. This is the photo that was recently used to make Plank's Helmar baseball card as well!
