Exceptional 1927 photograph of baseball legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig as they sign a baseball for a fan before the start of a game. Taken late in the season as Ruth is wearing an undershirt, he is penning his name to a ball while Gehrig patiently waits his turn to add his name. An absolutely incredible image in perfect shape, this is a slightly later re-strike (1950's) and has the look and feel of an original example that would be worth $10,000+. Age toning on the back is the only flaw, but it also adds to the vintage feel of the piece that comes straight from a New York newspaper archive! This is an image we have never seen before and this might be the first example to be offered in any form!
