Original 1920 full body pitching pose of Carl Mays, the best hurler in the American League as he warms up at the ballpark before a game. It is impossible to know exactly when this image was taken, but it appears to be from the year in which his pitched ball killed Ray Chapman of the Indians. Clear and bold, the stadium backdrop also is a killer touch to an already special photograph. Taken by George Grantham Bain and stamped on the back, this is a high grade example!
