Among the more notable images ever taken of the greatest Shortstop of All Time, this photo of Honus Wagner by George Grantham Bain in 1910 is the only known original that we are aware of to ever be offered publicly. Illustrating his batting grip as the prominent feature, Bain has captured Wagner in a way which was highly unusual at the time by focusing on the way he holds the bat and not just a close up of his face. Photo exhibits some creasing and wear but the image quality remains bold and beautiful for the age. Bain's stamp adorns the back (somewhat light) as well as editorial markings from the newspaper. A tremendous original which may be the lone survivor in the World!
