The 1961 season is one of the greatest in baseball history as Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris went toe to toe and chased down the iconic 60 home run mark set by Babe Ruth. The seasons put up by the M&M Boys were so epic that even major milestones paled in comparison to the chase of Ruth. Joe DiMaggio had to hate the fact that he was passed on the career homer list by his teammate and the man who overtook his throne as the God of New York, but he put on a smile anyways as the two men posed together for this photo. A nice image in great condition.
