Large and bold photograph of a young man named "Cheevers" as he tries out for the Chicago Cubs during spring training. Pictured in full uniform with fold lines still visible across his stomach from being worn for the first time ever. Dated 1924 on the back, we can find no record of anyone with this name having played in the professional ranks, but it does not matter. Cheevers represents a hoard of young men who showed up for spring training every year with big league dreams that were dashed! A crystal clear image in great shape with a little wear on the upper left corner.
