1938 Photograph of the top players from the New York Yankees as they surged toward their third consecutive American League Pennant. Led by Lou Gehrig in his final season as an everyday player, the quintet also featured Joe DiMaggio, Red Ruffing, Bill Dickey and Monte Pearson. A fine image in nice shape overall, this presents well with some artistic enhancements done for publication and a full paper caption as well. An interesting photo that captures a veritable "changing of the guard" as Gehrig was on his way out and DiMaggio was about to take center stage.
