Over a three year career between 1905-1911 Harry Ables pitched a total of 14 games in the major leagues making him the post child for obscurity. He pitched in 1905 with the Browns, 1909 with the Indians and 1911 with the Yankees. The offered image is from his short stint with the Tribe (where he won his only major league game) and it is a silver gelatin masterpiece. Almost certainly a unique piece of photography, this is the only image of Ables we have ever seen in any form and he is one of the toughest Yankees players to find images of.
