Following in the footsteps of Jackie Robinson were hundreds of Negro Leaguers who dreamed that a chance was coming their way too. For some, the call never came while others like Pat Scantlebury, finally got a chance, although it was a little late to make a real difference. Scantlebury was a star for years in the Negro Leagues and put up some huge numbers in the minor leagues, but still had to wait and wait some more before he made his debut in 1956 at 39 years old. The offered image captures the star in his major league uniform, proudly showing off the digs for the photographer in what had to be one of the proudest moments of his career! Condition and quality make this a perfect 10/10!
