People forget how good the Chicago Cubs were in the 1930's. They had just been to the World Series in 1932, here they were again three years later and they would get there again in 1938. They just HAD to win one of those right? Not when you are cursed! Even temporary bleachers built to support the huge throngs of fans that wanted to witness the World Series in 1935 weren't enough to rally the Cubbies. Here we find workers scrambling to get the structures in place before the first game, which the Cubs would win! Rare image which speaks to the technology of the day, safety codes, and the hapless Cubs!
