Lot Description  

The 1968 Cardinals are remembered today as the National League Champs, the World Series Champs and a defensive throw back team with one hell of a pitcher! One of the most dominant seasons by any pitcher in the 20th century, Bob Gibson re-wrote the record books and carried his team to victory in 1968! This photo captures the soon to be World Champs in uniform after clinching the NL pennant. Issued by the United Press, this is a rare image in nice shape.
