c. 1945 Photograph of five professional baseball players in Mexico as they lounge around the periphery of the ballpark, seeking some shade on a hot day. While the ballplayers were surely exceptional, the star here is the announcer behind what looks like a chicken shack ready to do his job complete with wires stretching from his desk up to a radio tower for broadcasting! No other photo accurately portrays the life of a ballplayer in Mexico at this time like we see here! The quality of the image is perfect with note to a crease running beneath the players from publication.
