1934 Photograph of the St. Louis Cardinals famous "Gas House Gang" as they open the World Series at home (game three). Paul Dean takes the mound at Sportsman's Park and after splitting the two games in Detroit, the Cardinals take control of the series with a 4-1 win. The ballpark is the star of this photo as bunting and fanfare decorate the iconic structure and the buzz is in the air! A fine image from Acme and with a full paper caption on the back as well. Condition and quality make this a nearly perfect example!
