1947 Large photograph of the greatest baseball player of all time Babe Ruth as he starts to feel the ravages of throat cancer but still lighting up in the face of it all. According to legend, Babe knew he had a throat "ailment" but the severity of it was hidden from him in order to make the last months of his life more pleasant! Taken by photographer William C. Greene and stamped on the back, this is a touching reminder at the frailty of life, even for someone that seemed invincible!
