Large 1955 masterpiece of photography picturing young Montreal Canadiens goalie Jacques Plante in full uniform. Plante was not only the greatest goalie in the history of the game when he retired, he was also a pioneer that was the first to wear a mask at the position. Images of Plante from later in his career when he was more established can be found, but earlier images are extremely rare. Taken from near his rookie season, this is a spectacular posed action photo by David Bier (one of the most important hockey photographers of all time). One of the best images of Plante we have ever seen in any form, this was used for some of his retro-hockey cards as well with this being the only original example we have ever seen!
