1915 Large portrait photograph in uniform of rookie from the St. Louis Browns, George Sisler. Posing as a fresh faced youngster, Sisler had just completed his last season at the University of Michigan and was hoping that his college success would translate to the big leagues. This is a work of photographic art from Paul Thompson and while the image is not stamped, the silver gelatin photo has his handwritten notes on the back in the upper corner which are easily recognizable as the scribble of Thompson! A full 8X10, this is a typical size and format of Thompson from the era and this is the superior example of the exactly TWO known copies of this image, displaying with perfect clarity and exceptional contrast.
