Buried in the long and illustrious history of the New York Yankees is their unwillingness to change with the times for seven years after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball. Finally the Yankees caved and brought up Vic Power and Elston Howard to the club making them one of the last to do so. The offered image shows Power in uniform with Kansas City and was used to announce the news that the Yankees were now integrated! An important piece of Yankees history and in fine shape, issued by the United Press and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well.
