The greatest boxers of the pre WWI era were Stanley Ketchel and Jack Johnson. Despite being from separate weight classes, the two men squared off in San Francisco in 1909 for the Heavyweight Championship. The offered silver gelatin photograph is the only original example of the square off before the fight between the two boxers that we have ever seen and this is an important image from the famous DANA studios in San Francisco. This is the finest boxing image we have ever offered, period!
