The hustle and grit that made Pete Reiser a fan favorite also led to the decline of his career. He was a complete sensation in 1941 leading the league in batting and multiple other categories and seemed headed that way in 1942 as well until he crashed face first into the outfield wall chasing a long fly ball. He would never be the same. The ultimate reminder of injury shortening the career of one of the best natural talents of all time, this is an absolutely stunning c. 1941 fielding photo of Reiser in uniform for the Dodgers. Photo has some really light handling wear and a crease on the lower left but overall it is a clear masterpiece of pre-war photography!
