Large 1909-1910 silver gelatin photograph of Charles "Chief" Bender of the Philadelphia Athletics in full uniform. Bender is one of the most underrated players of his era as he was a full blooded Indian who was also one of the best players of his generation. The ace of the staff, he posted an 18-8 record in 1909 with an ERA of 1.66! File stamped on the back from 1910, this is one of his largest and best images ever taken and while it has some edge chipping and a spot of discoloration on the far left, it is a fantastic piece of pre-war baseball photography that is being offered here for the first time ever!
