1938 World Series action photograph showing Clay Bryant of the Cubs as he is safe at first base as Yankees mega-star Lou Gehrig missed the throw. A few months later Gehrig would become ill and eventually be diagnosed with the rare disease ALS that now bears his name. We have handled well over a thousand Gehrig images in our time and this is the first photograph from before the 1939 season in which Gehrig looks like something is amiss! A rare action photograph that we have never seen before and it is possibly a unique image!
