Large 1937 photograph of the biggest sluggers in the game who all happened to play for the two teams that were squaring off on this day, the Tigers and Yankees. Highlighted by Lou Gehrig and Joe Dimaggio of the Yankees, the group is joined by their teammate Bill Dickey along with Hank Greenberg and Rudy York of the Tigers. While this is a slightly later re-strike from the late 1940's it appears, the image looks and feels completely original in all aspects. The reverse has a duplicate acetate negative made by the Sporting News that also comes to the high bidder as well. The quality of the image is outstanding and despite some light creasing to the upper right corner, the photo is an absolute blazer!
