1915 Action photograph of the greatest player of all time, Babe Ruth, taken during his rookie year on the mound with the Boston Red Sox. A fine image which pictures Ruth from head to toe in full uniform, this has a large paper caption on the back from when the image was published in 1931 detailing his rookie year of 1915. While the image is not dated, it appears as though this is a VERY old re-strike and the paper is consistent with 1920's photography. The stamps on the back from 1931 are the LATEST this image could be from and it is clearly older than the stamps, but how old is open to debate. If we had to pin this down, we feel this specimen was created about 1925, but it can not be any later than 1931 as that is when it was used for a story and filed in the morgue. This is one of the only images of Ruth pitching with the Red Sox we have seen from his playing career offered in quite some time and it presents here in pretty nice shape, the only flaws beyond some normal news-room handling is a small chip on the left edge and a piece of clear tape on the extreme lower left corner. A fine piece of baseball history that is being offered here for the first time publicly that we know of!
