Original 1911 photograph of the great Walter Johnson warming up before another one of his dominant performances. Set before a picturesque background of outfield wall advertising, the image makes Johnson stands out like a God! Far and away the greatest pitcher of all-time, Johnson is extremely underrated and this is one of the earliest and best action images of him we have ever had the pleasure of offering. Photograph exhibits creasing but otherwise is free of additional damage or flaws. Issued by the American Press Association, the image is concretely dated to 1911 (possibly Spring Training). One of the finest images of Johnson we have ever seen and one that remains here as a likely unique survivor!
