Jimmie Foxx was one of the greatest sluggers in the history of baseball. Known primarily from his time with the Athletics and Red Sox, a little known fact about the slugger is that he spent a couple seasons during WWII with the Chicago Cubs! The offered image captures Foxx from his first day in Cubs uniform and talking to his new teammates in the locker room before his inaugural game. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is one of the only images of Foxx in a Cubbies uniform we have ever seen.
