Cy Seymour was a hell of a hitter, but he is sadly a forgotten star today. He was a career .303 batter over a career that lasted 16 years, but his prime came too early and his teammates often let him down. He won the 1905 batting title hitting at a clip of .377 while also leading the league in RBI and had other monster seasons that could have easily landed him in Cooperstown. The offered photograph is one of the only examples we have ever seen, taken in 1910 when he was a member of the New York Giants and taken by noted photographer George Grantham Bain.
